Introducing volunter power-duo Tim and Sheila Walker! Tim and Sheila have been volunteering with Store to Door since early 2024, and have given more than 150 hours of their time since in support of homebound members of our community!
Q: How did you first get involved with Store to Door?
A: I had just retired and a notice came across my Facebook page saying Store to Door was in need of volunteers. The program was all new to us and we were committed immediately.
Q: What keeps you busy when you are not volunteering with Store to Door?
A: Yes, all of the above! We have two grown children, our son lives in Portland and our daughter is in LA. We cherish our family time. Tim is an accomplished musician and plays around town regularly. I follow him. Our black lab, Ellard, accompanies us on our Store to Door deliveries.
Q: What is something that your fellow volunteers would be surprised to know about you?
A: Tim and I both graduated in Theater from the University of Montana, that is how we met. Our life is full of drama and we are fully qualified to “ACT” like we know what we are doing.
Q: What would you tell someone who is thinking of volunteering with Store to Door?
A: It is an incredibly well run organization and fills an incredible need in our community. We have met so many wonderful human beings. Tim said it perfectly when he told a friend, “volunteering for Store to Door, we get way more that we give.”
